Irix 150mm f/2.8 1:1 Macro Double-Awarded!
At Irix, we are fueled by the thought that a lens is more than mere parameters. It is a tool of a photographer's artistic expression – and therefore should not only serve one's technical needs, but also remain truly unique in both design and innovation.
Our preparations for the Irix 150mm f/2.8 1:1 Macro launch were long and intense. We spent months outlining the most attractive features and functionalities, striving to design something exquisite, yet very functional and user-friendly. We paid utmost attention to the optics of our lens – the Irix 150mm was to provide impeccable details for images over 50MPx, as well as soft and delicate out of focus areas creating pastel bokeh. The task was a challenge,
but we made it!

And that's not all!
As you know, Irix is not only about functionality and great parameters. Irix is about design – a design that catches the eye and sets our products apart every time. We are well-aware that a lens needs that 'special something' – an elegant form and a composition of details that encourage the user to handle it with joy and certainty. We believe that in every craft, the happiness an artistic tool brings reflects directly in the beauty of an artist's outstanding masterpieces.
Quickly after the premiere, our efforts paid off – our valued Irix 150mm f/2.8 1:1 Macro received an iF Design award!
iF Design was the first ever design prize for Irix, so the honor of receiving it made us both proud and emotional. We were beyond elated that our aesthetics and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. 2019 turned out truly favourable for the Irix team. A few months after receiving the iF Design, we got a message stating that
Irix was acknowledged yet again!
Now, we have another reason for celebration – we received the prestigious, world-known Red Dot award!
What is a Red Dot?
Red Dot is an international design prize that crowns the most outstanding products from various industries. Each year, more than 15,500 projects from 80 countries compete for its 'Dot' of approval – which makes the rivalry all the more intense.
