● Soft Gradual – for uneven lighting conditions, with the light transition from ND to clear,
● Hard Gradual – for situations, where light changes more drastically, like landscape shots where the sky is much brighter than ground,
● Reverse Gradual – for sunsets and sunrises, with the darkest part right in the middle,
● Full ND – when trying to for example keep long exposure during daylight shots.
