Irix Edge MMS Drop-in ND8 Filter is a professional neutral density filter created specifically for use with the PL-Mount to Sony E-Mount adapter equipped with the magnetic MMS Drop-In filter system.

The ND8 filter reduces the amount of light reaching the sensor by 3 EV, making it easier to work in bright lighting conditions, maintain a wider aperture, and better control exposure without affecting the color character of the image.

Unlike classic front filters, this model was designed as part of the MMS Drop-In system, making it compact, quick to use, and perfectly suited for work on set. It is a practical solution for camera operators who want to respond efficiently to changing lighting conditions without complicating their setup.

This is a dedicated filter developed specifically for the Irix PL-Mount to Sony E-Mount adapter with the MMS Drop-In system. It is not a standard filter from the earlier MMS system mounted directly to the lens.

Faithful color reproduction without color cast

Thanks to the use of high-quality optical glass and carefully selected coatings, the filter preserves the color neutrality of the image without introducing unwanted color casts during light reduction.

Double-sided anti-reflective coatings and optical glass

The filter is made of high-quality optical glass and equipped with double-sided anti-reflective nano coatings. Each side of the filter is covered with 18 protective layers, with an outer layer resistant to water, oil, and dust.

Reinforced tempered glass with enhanced durability

The filter belongs to the SR series and is made of reinforced tempered glass, resulting in above-average impact resistance and greater safety during intensive field and on-set work.
