Irix Cine 21mm T1.5 is a full-frame cine lens. It is excellent for any work where you will require a wide and fast lens.
Cine lenses are designed to provide the substance. They are supposed to have that “special look, unidentified special thing, that makes the movie stand out. Irix lenses come with their own cinematic look, the “Irix look”.
Round shaped blade, and shallow depth of field, will cut your subject from the background. The unique bokeh draws the contours of your subject to make them stand out. The soft highlights and subtle mist will smooth out those light streaks, that show up on other lenses, providing footage that will be stunning in every frame.
Rain or shine. The rugged and durable construction of the Irix Cine 21mm guarantees that you can keep on working with whatever weather throws at you. The lens is resistant to rain, sand, and dust. So you can take it for your next adventure in a desert or jungle if your camera can handle those environments. Engraved markings on the lens have been filled with UV-reactive paint, thanks to which filming in difficult lighting conditions becomes much easier.
The 21mm lens gives freedom to your creativity. It’s wide, but not wide enough to cause distortion. With this focal length, all proportions are kept and your subject will look exactly like you see them compared to wider lenses. With those characteristics, the lens works great for tight spaces, where we need to shoot, for example, people.
Whether cruising with your gimbal between dancing people during a wedding or shooting an action scene, where we want to get really close, the image will look like many more narrow lenses. Getting this close was for example in the movie Revenant. There DOP Emmanuel Lubezki was able to get really dynamic shots and make the viewer feel like they are right there with the actors thanks to lenses of similar focal lengths as 21mm.
The fast T1.5 opens up unlimited possibilities to shoot in any light conditions without going too high on your ISO, also providing a bokeh that will stand out and the weather sealing protects the lens in any weather conditions.
21mm will be our widest lens, that matches the 30 and 45mm with T1.5, allowing for consistent shooting on a wide-open aperture. With such a wide lens you can achieve amazing bokeh, and easily match all the colors, contrast, and brightness with 30mm and 45mm.
All Irix cine lenses are designed with unified standards. Similar weights, 86mm front filter thread on most lenses, and same location of focus and iris gears. The signature Magnetic Mount System allows for easy mounting of the Irix Edge MMS filters on the 15mm, 30mm, 45mm, and 150mm lenses.

Irix cine 21mm T1.5 meets requirements of all filmmakers. No matter if you like to build professional setup or shoot with bare lens on stabilizer this lens is for you. Aluminum and magnesium alloy construction and housing weight only 1,1-1,2kg.
We have listened to requests from our customers and decided to redesign our lens cover. The previous one didn’t allow for leaving the lens standing on it. The improved one has a flat top and slides on the lens. Thanks to this, you can now leave the lens upside down on a table and not worry about it wobbling!
All Irix has a similar weight, which makes swapping them on gimbal much easier. Additionally, focus gears help with any wireless follow focus. The weight of around 1kg works as a perfect counterweight to most mirrorless cameras, making balancing a breeze. We have tested it personally on many gimbals from most popular brands like Zhiyun or DJI and were very happy with how it all performed together.
*Each camera has different weight distribution and size, some balance easier, others don’t. Tests were done on the Sony A7 series and Canon R series.
Convenience and compatibility matters. We made sure our Irix Cine 15mm is compatible with most follow focus systems, matte boxes, stabilizers, and accessories available on the market.
In addition, it comes with a detachable lens support foot, which provides stabilization and reduces the strain on the camera mount when in use with follow focus gears.
